I Peter 2: 18 - 25

At one time, Peter was unable to comprehend a suffering Messiah (Mt. 16:21-23). But 30 years later, when he wrote the first letter bearing his name, Peter understood the cross to be essential to our salvation and central to our everyday lives. In this text, Peter makes two affirmations about Christ's death on the cross while answering two criticisms people often make against the cross.
